TRANSWATER (TW) has further strengthened its portfolio and enhanced its reputation as a preferred and reliable valve servicing provider when TW was awarded a valve refurbishment contract by Tarpon Energy Services Ltd for the FPSO BW Adolo (formerly known as Azurite).

This was the first ever refurbishment project for FPSO undertaken by Process and Plant Services Division (PPS) which involved more than 140 units of valves at a value of approximately RM1million making it one of the major refurbishment project so far. This project kicked-off in November 2017 and expected to complete by March 2018.
The scopes of the project were the refurbishment of control valves, pressure regulator, hydraulic actuator and emergency shutdown valve. In addition, the service team also performed the controller rectification and refurbishment as well as accessories installation.

Besides Fisher valves, the refurbishment process also involved other valves brand including Nakakita, Copes Vulcan, Masonelian, Shipham, Heaton, Inbal, Jordan and Severn Glucon. Our Project Manager, Mr. Anil Vincent viewed this scenario as an opportunity for PPS to showcase their capability and versatility in servicing different brand of valves. This is in line with TRANSWATER’s vision to be a one-stop service provider and solution centre covering all types of valve in this region. He added that this project reflected a win-win situation for both Tarpon Energy Services Ltd and TRANSWATER. TRANSWATER managed to deliver the project within the profitable margin meanwhile it is also a cost efficient for the client as the project is scheduled to complete within the required lead time at the highest standard of delivery without compromising the safety measures.

FPSO BW Adolo is owned by BW Offshore based in Gabon, Central Africa. Currently, FPSO is docking in Keppel shipyard, Singapore in preparation for the deployment expected by second half of 2018.
